ArcelorMittal Poland announced the completion of the modernization project at its Sosnowiec plant, which started in 2018. Total capital investment amounted to 125 million zloty (27.5 million Euro).
Most of the funds went to the rebuilding of the wire rod factory. During the modernization, part of the equipment was updated, new control and management systems were installed.
According to ArcelorMittal Poland, this will increase the rolling speed as the mill's production capacity increases from 700 thousand tons to 800 thousand tons per year. In addition, product quality will be improved through modernization.
In addition, the cold rolled steel production line was also updated in the enterprise. Pickling unit, reverse rolling mill, furnace and pulp line were modernized.
