Tüpraş Kurumsal İletişim Müdürlüğünden yapılan yazılı açıklamada, bugün saat 15.15'de Tüpraş İzmit Rafinerisi'nde ekipmanlarda oluşan arıza nedeniyle "alevlenme" meydana geldiği belirtilerek, "Teknik emniyet ekiplerimiz olaya emniyetli bir şekilde müdahale etmektedir. Gelişmeler hakkında kamuoyuna bilgi verilecektir" ifadesi kullanıldı.
