Zaporizhstal increased output of rolled metal products by 47.4% in January-May 2024

Ukrainian steel giant Zaporizhstal Iron and Steel Works reported a significant increase in its production for the first five months of 2024.

From January to May, the company increased its rolled steel output by 47.4% year-on-year, reaching 1.0488 million tons, up from 711.6 thousand tons in the same period last year.

During this period, steel production surged by 45.4% to 1.2495 million tons, while pig iron production rose by 36.3% to 1.2904 million tons.

In May, Zaporizhstal produced 240 thousand tons of pig iron and 240.2 thousand tons of steel, and shipped 204 thousand tons of rolled products.

This growth continues the positive trend from 2023, when the company increased its rolled steel output by 57.2% compared to 2022, reaching 2.0547 million tons. Steel production in 2023 rose by 65.4% to 2.4669 million tons, and pig iron production grew by 35.3% to 2.7189 million tons.

Zaporizhstal remains one of the largest industrial enterprises in Ukraine, with its products in high demand both domestically and internationally.
