What is the latest situation in the Russian scrap market?

The first two weeks of September, prices for scrap metal on the Russia's domestic market remained stable, but then a slight decline began, which stopped by the end of the month. As a result, the average value of 3A scrap CPT Ural railway for September is 29,989 rubles ($299) excluding VAT, which is only 243 rubles short of the record high in August of this year. The price for 3A scrap CPT railway Ural in the last week of September reached 29,597 rubles ($295) excluding VAT.

No significant changes are predicted in the scrap metal market until mid-October. Further, there will probably be some increase, the reason for which will be favorable conditions in the final product markets. Growth will also be facilitated by the transition from October 1 to non-cash payments to citizens for scrap.
