What is the latest situation in the CIS billet market?

In a landscape marked by relative quietude, the CIS billet market has recently witnessed a lack of significant developments, reflecting a period of subdued activity. The market, typically characterized by its dynamism, is currently experiencing a phase of stagnancy, with minimal fluctuations in both demand and pricing.

What is the latest situation in the CIS billet market?

The recent transactions of Russian billet to Türkiye was around 20,000 tons. The pricing, falling within the range of $547-553 per ton CIF Turkish Black Sea, provides insights into the current valuation of Russian semis in this region.

In contrast to the fluctuations observed in the Russian semis market, export offers for Ukrainian billet in the ports of Reni/Izmail remained consistent. These offers are specifically tailored for deliveries to the EU and MENA countries. The pricing structure, ranging from $535 to $545 per ton FOB, underscores the competitive positioning of Ukrainian billet in the global market. The stability in pricing may be influenced by various factors, such as production costs, market demand, and geopolitical considerations.
