In the second half of October, Turkish companies managed to reduce the price of scrap metal to less than $350/t CFR, and billets to less than $490/t.
A decline in the markets for these products was also observed in the East and South Asian countries. However, at the very end of last week, scrap prices in Turkiye rose slightly again.
Taiwanese buyers were concentrating on less expensive Russian billets; on November 2, a 20,000 t deal was finalized at $493/t CFR. For November shipment, billets from Russia to Turkiye were offered at $510/t CIF Bartin/Zonguldak, $515/t CIF Aliaga, and $520/t CIF Iskenderun.
Azerbaijan-origin billet for prompt shipment could be bought at $480/t DAP.
