The project, with a total value of around EUR 41 million, represents the largest order globally in the company’s storage systems segment.
The sports goods logistics center project, developed for a leading Turkish logistics service provider in Istanbul, is scheduled for completion in April 2027. The order includes the installation of a high-bay warehouse with a height of approximately 40 meters, a length of 222 meters, and a width of 86 meters, as well as a fully automated “miniload” small-parts warehouse. The facility is expected to become one of the largest and most efficient storage solutions in the Istanbul metropolitan area.
Commenting on the record order, voestalpine AG CEO Herbert Eibensteiner stated:
“Demand for our high-quality storage system solutions has been very strong worldwide for many years. This order once again demonstrates our technological expertise and innovative strength.”
Carola Richter, Member of the Management Board of voestalpine AG and Head of the Metal Forming Division, stated that the Istanbul project has been designed as a modern high-bay storage system with fully automated processes and maximum space utilization. Richter added:
“With our many years of experience and manufacturing expertise, we successfully implement complex storage solutions worldwide. We hold a strong position in this dynamic market segment and are now a highly sought-after partner for advanced logistics solutions beyond Europe as well.”
Prestigious Projects in Europe and the U.S.
The major order in Türkiye is just one of voestalpine’s global projects. The company recently completed two 45-meter-high high-bay warehouses for furniture retailer JYSK in the Netherlands. In the United Kingdom, a new fully automated pallet racking system project, reaching up to 30 meters in height, is currently underway. This project also features an innovative mezzanine solution that reduces steel usage while maintaining structural strength.
Growth in the U.S. and New Production Facility
In response to rising demand in the United States, voestalpine also established a new production facility specifically designed for storage systems in the state of Kentucky in the 2024/25 financial year. The site is planned to be expanded with additional systems during the current financial year.
