Looking at Vietnam’s General Department of Customs data, steel imports in June 2023 amounted to 957,750 mt, up 14 percent month-on-month. Looking at the first six months of 2023, steel imports decreased by 14.4 percent to 5 mt.
Scrap imports in June 2023 decreased by 30 percent compared to May and amounted to 207,400 mt. Looking at the first six months of 2023, it amounted to 2.34 million mt, down 7 percent from 2022.
