In November 2023, US slab imports increased by 143% m-o-m and 13% y-o-y to around 303,400 tons.
Imports from Brazil and Mexico were the country's two main sources of imports, totaling about 245,000 tons and 35,400 tons, respectively.
The value of imports during this period amounted to approximately US$173 million.
