According to an update issued by the U.S. Department of the Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) on August 24, 2026, a large number of companies were added to the sanctions list, particularly those operating in the oil, maritime shipping, trading and logistics sectors.
Eight UAE-based companies added to sanctions list
Eight companies operating in the UAE were designated under the new measures: AMDEH Ship Management and Operation Co. L.L.C, FOSCOM FZE, Good Luck Shipping LLC, Ship Fuels and Trade DMCC, Shipoil FZCO/Shipoil DMCC, Target Horizon Shipping LLC, Unique Oasis Shipping Services LLC and Wellbred Trading FZCO/Wellbred Trading DMCC.
OFAC stated that Good Luck Shipping, Target Horizon Shipping and Unique Oasis Shipping Services are linked to the Islamic Republic of Iran Shipping Lines (IRISL).
UAE-based Mohammad Ahmed Suhil Fattouh and Ivan Obukhov were also added to the sanctions list. Fattouh was reported to be linked to the National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC), while Obukhov was identified as being connected to Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps-Quds Force.
Maritime and oil trading companies also targeted
The sanctions also cover maritime and trading companies based outside the UAE. Singapore-based ARC Chartering Pte. Ltd., Azure Shipping Pte. Ltd. and Wellbred Capital Pte. Ltd., as well as Hong Kong-based Clever Shipping Limited, Riqueza Group Ltd, Sky Oil and Gas Asia Limited, Vienna Shipping Co. Limited, Shipoil Limited and MT Trading and Logistics HK Limited, were added to the sanctions list.
In addition, France-based La Nivernaise de Raffinage SAS, Marshall Islands-based Sifra Shipping Company, China-based Lilimoon Navigation Inc, UK-based Estanica Trading Ltd and Switzerland-based Wellbred Trading SA were designated under the measures.
Six tankers added to sanctions list
OFAC also designated six vessels in connection with Iran-related activities: G SILVER, QUANTUM HOPE, SIFRA, STAR PIONE, TELA and VOYAGE ELITE.
The list includes LPG tankers G SILVER and SIFRA, along with crude oil tankers QUANTUM HOPE, STAR PIONE, TELA and VOYAGE ELITE.
Three Turkish companies included
As part of the latest sanctions, Türkiye-based Huzur Plastik, Oshida Petrokimya and Selfplast Plastik were also added to the sanctions list. Starplas Kimya was additionally identified among the companies linked to Türkiye.
OFAC’s update also designated numerous companies based in or linked to Iran, China, Hong Kong, India and Malaysia as part of the latest sanctions measures.
