Prices for US hot-dipped galvanized (HDG) and cold-rolled coil (CRC) continued their downward trend this week, mirroring the decline in hot rolled coil (HRC) prices. Mills reduced their offers, resulting in a $57.25 per short ton (st) drop for HDG, settling at $1,061.25/st, and a $77/st decrease for CRC, reaching $1,065/st.
HDG offers spanned a broad range, with potential lows at $980/st and highs reaching $1,125/st, while the competitive range was $1,040-1,120/st. Mills saw increased success in securing orders, leading to an extended average US HDG mill lead time of 5-6 weeks, up from 4-6 weeks.
Similarly, US CRC prices exhibited wide variability, with reported levels ranging from $980-1,150/st and more consistent levels falling between $1,040-1,120/st.
