The General Staff of Ukraine stated that the Krasnodar and Syzran oil refineries in Russia were hit by UAVs.
In a statement released on the General Staff’s Telegram account, it was noted that important Russian facilities were struck.
The statement underlined that Russian refineries were targeted overnight in order to weaken Russia’s strike potential and complicate fuel supply to its military units, adding, “Units of the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Forces, together with Special Operations Forces and in cooperation with other army elements, struck the Krasnodar oil refinery.”
It was pointed out that this refinery produces a total of 3 million oil products annually and that the fuel is used in the supply of the Russian Armed Forces.
The statement reported that numerous explosions and fires occurred at the refinery.
It was also noted that units of the Ukrainian UAV Forces struck the Syzran oil refinery in Russia’s Samara region multiple times, and that the refinery has an annual processing capacity of 8.5 million tons of oil.
A fire was reported in the area where the facility is located.
Intense Russian airstrikes on Ukraine
Meanwhile, in another statement by the General Staff of Ukraine, it was reported that Russia carried out overnight attacks on Ukraine using UAVs, as well as air, land, and sea-launched missiles.
The statement said that Russia used 537 Shahed-type and various other UAVs in the attacks, and that the Russian military also launched 8 Iskander-M ballistic missiles and 37 cruise missiles.
It was noted that the airstrikes were intercepted by Ukraine’s air defense systems, with the statement adding, “According to initial data, the defense systems destroyed 548 aerial targets.”
