UAE says ADNOC tanker targeted by drones in the Strait of Hormuz

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) announced that an oil tanker owned by the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) was targeted by two drones while transiting the Strait of Hormuz.

In a statement by the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the attack was condemned, and it was stated that the drones were launched from Iran. The statement noted that there were no casualties or injuries in the incident.

The UAE emphasized that the attack poses a threat to international maritime transport and that targeting commercial vessels is unacceptable. It was also stated that such actions create risks not only for regional stability but also for global energy security.

Meanwhile, the United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) reported that a munition struck an oil tanker off the coast of Fujairah in the Strait of Hormuz. The organization stated that the crew is safe and that an investigation into the incident has been launched.
