Two new logistics projects are being implemented on the Suez Canal in partnership with Egypt and Türkiye

The Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZONE) announced that it has signed contracts for two new logistics projects through an Egypt-Turkey partnership, aimed at strengthening the region’s logistics infrastructure. The alliance includes the Arab Organization for Industrialization, Egypt’s United Egy Group, and Turkey’s Sigma Logistics & Containers and Logi Trade.

The joint venture, named “SIGMA Egypt,” will establish two customs-bonded container yards in Qantara West and Sokhna. The projects cover a total area of 100,000 m², with a total investment of $4.2 million (EGP 203 million), and are expected to generate approximately 100 direct jobs.

SCZONE Chairman Waleid Gamal El-Dien highlighted that the projects enhance investor confidence and strengthen the region’s capacity to provide logistics solutions for both regional and international trade. He stated, “The customs-bonded container yards in Qantara West and Sokhna will improve supply chain efficiency, reduce costs, and create new employment opportunities.”

Arab Organization for Industrialization Chairman Mokhtar Abdel Latif emphasized that the partnership contributes to national industry, increases exports, and reduces import dependency. The projects are aligned with SCZONE’s vision to leverage its strategic ports for global trade and are expected to reinforce logistics and industrial integration in the region.
