Türkiye's wire rod imports increased by 89.6% in May

According to data compiled by SteelRadar from the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK), Türkiye's wire rod imports in May increased by 89.6% y/y from 24,352 tons to 46,175 tons. Compared to the previous month, April, it decreased by 19.3%.

Total wire rod imports in the January-May period increased by 11.8% from 183,367 tons to 204,915 tons.

In the month in question, China, Kazakhstan and Russia ranked in the top 3 in wire rod imports of Türkiye. Wire rod imports from China amounted to 13,602 tons, followed by Kazakhstan with 12,104 tons, Russia with 5,841 tons, Spain with 2,485 tons and the Azerbaijan with 2,208 ton.
