Turkiye's wire rod imports increased by 250.98%!

According to data compiled from the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), Turkiye's wire rod imports in September 2023 increased by 250.98% compared to September 2022 and by 30.64% compared to the previous month to 89,568 tonnes.

When we look at the total import figure for the January-September period of 2022-2023, imports, which was 297,611 tonnes in the 9-month period of last year, increased by 109.39% to 611,978 tonnes in the same period of this year.

The most imported country is Malaysia

According to import data, there were significant changes among the countries where Turkiye imported the most wire rod. Egypt, which imported 39,793.73 tonnes in the previous month, decreased by 97.44% to 1,019.38 tonnes in September. Meanwhile, Malaysia rose to the first place by importing 17,825.82 tonnes in August and increased its import figure by 197.85% to 53,093.94 tonnes in September.
