Among the 5 prominent countries in Türkiye's wire rod imports in August 2023, Egypt ranked 1st with a significant increase.

According to the data compiled by SteelRadar based on the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK) data, Egypt topped the list among the top 5 countries in Türkiye's wire rod imports with a 54.78% increase from 25,710 tonnes to 39,793 tonnes in August compared to the previous month.

Among the countries that Türkiye imported the most wire rod from, Malaysia ranked second with 17,826 tonnes. Moreover, Malaysia recorded a large import increase of 82.25% from July to August. While 9,781 tonnes were imported in July, this figure reached 17,826 tonnes in August.

Russia ranked third with 2,524 tonnes of imports. However, while 10,159 tonnes were imported in July, this figure dropped by 75% to 2,524 tonnes in August.

South Korea ranked 4th in Türkiye's wire rod import ranking. While 13,631 tonnes were imported in July, this figure decreased by 89.56% to 1,409 tonnes in August.

The United Kingdom ranked fifth in the import ranking. While 1,563 tonnes were imported in July, 1,316 tonnes were imported in August with a 15.8% decrease.

Türkiye's wire rod imports continue to be closely monitored with the changes in this period.
