According to data compiled by SteelRadar from the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK), wire rod imports decreased from 28,492 tons to 24,290 tons compared to the same month of the previous year. Compared to January, imports declined by 15.7%.
In the January–February period, total wire rod imports decreased by 10.3% year-on-year, falling from 59,177 tons to 53,111 tons.
In February, China ranked first among the countries from which imports were made, with imports increasing by 14.1% from 15,228 tons to 17,377 tons. Imports from Japan, which ranked second, rose by 82.4% from 728 tons to 1,328 tons, while imports from South Korea increased by 437.3% from 320 tons to 1,722 tons. In contrast, imports from Iran decreased by 15.7% from 1,539 tons to 1,297 tons.
