Türkiye's steel bar imports decreased by 14.7% in the January-May period

According to information compiled by SteelRadar from Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK) data, Türkiye's steel bar imports in May 2024 increased by 75.4% compared to the same month of the previous year, rising from 15,714 tons to 27,568 tons. This figure represents a 270.9% increase compared to the previous month, April.

Total steel bar imports in the January-May period decreased by 14.7% compared to the same period of the previous year, dropping from 85,353 tons to 72,799 tons.

The leading countries from which Türkiye imported steel bars in May were Portugal with 10,076 tons, followed by Iran with 5,681 tons, Italy with 5,439 tons, China with 4,744 tons, and Germany with 742 tons.
