Scrap purchase prices in Türkiye remained largely stable this week. Weak demand from key buyers kept the market stagnant, while domestic transactions for August concluded quietly. Both buyers and sellers expect the sluggish trend to continue into September. The US-origin HMS 80:20 bulk scrap CFR Türkiye price held steady at $347/t on a weekly basis. Türkiye’s deep-sea scrap market also remained subdued, with mills slowing down their purchases in recent days. Sales from Europe continued to maintain a flat trend due to regional holidays.
According to this week’s contacts, HMS 80:20 scrap from the US to the Aegean region was seen at $345.50/t CFR Türkiye, another US-origin shipment to the Aegean region at $346/t CFR, from the Baltic to the Aegean region at $341.50/t CFR, and from Europe to the Marmara region at $343/t CFR.
