Downward momentum continues in global steel markets. In Türkiye, domestic scrap prices, particularly shipbreaking scrap prices, declined, while import scrap prices rose by $10/ton on the week to $380/ton from last week's $370/ton.
Shipbreaking scrap prices in the Izmir/Aliağa region fell by $7/ton to average $378/ton from $385/ton in the previous week.
Despite the 15% weekly loss in Chinese ore prices, 80/20 import scrap prices remained firm. However, expectations remain negative.
