According to information compiled by SteelRadar analysts from the preliminary foreign trade data released by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK) and the Ministry of Trade, Türkiye's iron and steel export value amounted to USD 970.36 million in May 2026, marking a 0.4% decrease compared to the same month of the previous year.
During the month, iron and steel exports ranked 7th among Türkiye's product groups with the highest export value.
In the January-May period of 2026, the value of iron and steel exports declined by 3.2% compared to the same period of the previous year, reaching USD 4.36 billion.
Meanwhile, the export value of articles of iron or steel fell by 13.0% year on year to USD 763.91 million in May. This product group ranked 8th among Türkiye's highest-value export categories during the month.
In the January-May period, exports of articles of iron or steel decreased by 0.1% compared to the same period of the previous year, totaling USD 3.87 billion.
