The World Steel Association (Worldsteel) announced crude steel production data for April 2025. Accordingly, Türkiye's crude steel production increased by 7% y/y to 3 million tons in April.
In the January-April 2025 period, total production decreased by 1% compared to the same period of 2024 and reached 12.3 million tons.
Türkiye maintained its 7th place in the world crude steel production ranking in April. The production figure of China, the world's largest steel producer, which ranked first, remained unchanged at 86 million tons.
Global crude steel production decreased by 0.3% compared to the same period of last year to 155.7 million tons (Mt).
