The European Union has announced the certificate price for the first quarter of 2026 under the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM).

The EU announces CBAM certificate price for the first quarter of 2026

Accordingly, the CBAM certificate price for the first quarter of 2026 was published on April 7, 2026, and set at EUR 75.36.

The pricing is calculated in accordance with Article 21 of Regulation (EU) 2023/956 and Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2025/2548. The European Commission announces CBAM certificate prices in the first calendar week following the end of each quarter, based on auction data from the EU Emissions Trading System (ETS).

The announced price will be applied to the sale of certificates corresponding to the embedded emissions of CBAM-covered goods imported into the European Union during the first quarter of 2026.

On the other hand, under the regulation, it is envisaged that as of February 2027, all CBAM certificates will be purchased through a common central platform.
