The Aegean Ferrous and Non-Ferrous Metals Exporters' Association, which has been at the top of exports for 8 years under the roof of the Aegean Exporters' Associations, participated in the Made in Steel 2025 Fair held in Milan, Italy between May 6-8, 2025 with its info stand, keeping its finger on the pulse of the iron and steel sector in Europe and conveying the potential of the sector to importers from Italy and all over the world in order to add a new link to the success in steel exports to Italy.
Türkiye ranked first in international participation
Informing that Made in Steel 2025 Fair is one of the largest steel industry events in Europe, Yalçın Ertan, Vice President of the Aegean Exporters' Associations Coordinator and President of the Aegean Ferrous and Non-Ferrous Metals Exporters' Association, stated that Türkiye took part in the fair with 38 companies, that the Turkish steel industry had the largest international participation ahead of China and Germany, that a total of 386 companies, including 254 from Italy, participated in the fair, and that nearly 20 thousand industry professionals were hosted at the fair.
Mr. Ertan stated that Aegean Ferrous and Non-Ferrous Metals Exporters' Association represented both our country and the exporters of the region with the booth they took part in the fair and underlined that they made bilateral contacts during the event. Members of our association, Kardemir Çelik San. A.Ş., Özkan Demir Çelik San. A.Ş. and Mert Çelik Metal Ürünleri San. ve Tic. A.Ş. and Mert Çelik Metal Ürünleri San. ve Tic. A.Ş. Özlem Bakırel, Vice President of the Board of Directors of the Aegean Ferrous and Non-Ferrous Metals Exporters' Association, was also present at the fair.
Yalçın Ertan, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Aegean Ferrous and Non-Ferrous Metals Exporters' Association, made the following statements regarding their participation in the fair: “The participation of our association in this important global exhibition is valuable in terms of further strengthening the effectiveness of the Turkish steel industry in the European market. Made in Steel 2025, which we participated in, is of great importance not only in terms of establishing new business contacts, but also in terms of closely following sectoral trends, gaining awareness of new technologies and increasing our international visibility. We aim to exceed 1 billion dollars in exports by the end of 2025 by maintaining the upward trend in our steel exports to Italy.”
President Ertan noted, “Taking part in such events allows us to take steps that will further advance the export vision of our industry. We are extremely pleased with the interest shown to our stand and the contacts established during Made in Steel 2025. In the coming period, we will continue to represent our members on global platforms and introduce the production power of our country to the world with determination. We will reach the USD 2.2 billion export target we have set for 2025 with these contacts,” he concluded his words.
More than 50 speakers from Italy and Europe shared their knowledge and opinions on topics such as the economic situation and expectations of carbon and stainless steel, the decarbonization process in the sector, steel prices and technological innovations at the conferences and arena events held during the Made in Steel 2025 Exhibition.
