Türkiye leads in EU steel quotas, while some countries did not use any

Türkiye is at the top of data on the use of European Union (EU) steel import quotas for the period April 1 - June 30, 2025, while some countries did not use any.

According to SteelRadar's weekly assessments, the utilization rate of some quotas for various steel products and profiles was noteworthy, while a cautious attitude was displayed in some quotas.

In the import data for the second quarter of 2025, Türkiye stands out with 100% utilization of 98,054 tons of wire rod quota, 83,949 tons of hollow sections quota, 14,931 tons of large welded tubes quota, 15,716 tons of organic coated sheets quota and 94,398 tons of rebar quota.

As for other countries, India had a quota of 53,636 tons of 4A metallic coated sheets, 78,591 tons of organic coated sheets, 31,733 tons of stainless bars and light sections and 5,880 tons of seamless stainless tubes and pipes, China had a quota of 128,220 tons of 4B metallic coated sheets, 4,915 tons of stainless HR quarto plates and 8,072 tons of other welded pipes, Taiwan used its entire quota of 46,029 tons of stainless HR quarto plates.

In contrast, South Korea and Iran did not use 254 tons and 165 tons of 3A electrical sheets quota, respectively. Likewise, the United Kingdom did not utilize its quota of 860 tons of stainless HR quarto plates.
