Turkish manufacturing exports continue to strengthen

The export climate in the Turkish manufacturing sector continued to improve, according to the February 2025 data of Türkiye Manufacturing Export Climate Index released by the Istanbul Chamber of Industry (ICI). The index stood at 51.1 in February, almost unchanged from 51.2 in January, indicating continued strengthening in export demand conditions. This marks the 14th month of the uninterrupted improvement trend in the export climate of Turkish manufacturers.

According to the data released by ICI, the Middle East was the region with the fastest expansion in economic activity worldwide. In this region, Saudi Arabia stood out as the country with the fastest growth in economic activity, while non-oil economic activity in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) increased strongly. In other Middle Eastern countries, production increased in Kuwait and Lebanon, remained flat in Egypt and decreased in Qatar.

Strong Growth Continues in Export Markets

The Export Climate Index, calculated by the ICI, measures the operating conditions of the Turkish manufacturing sector in its main export markets. The index is calculated by combining production indices from national PMI surveys and is shaped by weights based on the shares of export markets in Turkish manufacturing exports. February data show that the Turkish manufacturing sector's exports continued to strengthen and that Turkish exports followed a favorable course, especially due to the economic growth in the Middle East.
