According to data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute ( TUIK); Türkiye's wire rod imports increased by 36% in May compared to April

With this increase, imports increased from 85 thousand 724 tonnes to 116 thousand 520 tonnes.

Türkiye's wire rod imports from Egypt increased nearly 7 times

However, it climbed from 4th to 1st place with a record-high increase from 5 thousand tonnes to 34 thousand tonnes compared to the previous month!

Türkiye's wire rod imports from Malaysia, which ranked at the top in April, decreased to 2nd place in May.

In May, Türkiye's wire rod imports from Malaysia decreased by 40% from 25 thousand tonnes to 15 thousand tonnes compared to April.

South Korea's wire rod exports to Türkiye increased from 9th to 3rd place!

Türkiye's wire rod imports from South Korea increased 6 times (9 thousand 275 tonnes) in May compared to the previous month, from 1 thousand 835 tonnes to 11 thousand tonnes.

The countries that rank 4th, 5th and 6th in Turkey's wire rod imports are respectively; Spain decreased by 45% to 9 thousand tons, while the United Kingdom increased by 59% to 6 thousand tons.

Russia decreased by 70% from 18 thousand tonnes to 5 thousand 389 tonnes.

Other countries in the top 10 were China, Germany, Switzerland and Italy

China increased by 19% to 4 thousand 832 tonnes, while Germany decreased by 3% to 2 thousand 487 tonnes.

Switzerland increased by 30% to 2 thousand 142 tonnes and Italy increased by 7% to 1 thousand 464 tonnes.
