Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK) published producer and product price indices for April 2025. Consumer prices increased by 3% compared to the previous month, reaching 37.86% on an annual basis.
According to TÜİK systems, the annual core volume for the same period was 37.12%.
The highest annual increase in April was in the education group with 79.20%. This group was followed by housing with 74.07% and health with 41.99%. Housing made the highest contribution to annual inflation with 9.98 points. Housing was followed by food and non-alcoholic beverages with 9.21 points and food and non-alcoholic beverages with 3.84 points.
The fastest monthly increase was in clothing
The highest monthly price increase was realized in the clothing and footwear market with 6.50%. This item was followed by housing with 4.66% and marriage group with 3.80%.
While 121 of the 143 basic adventures included in the index were shown in 121 compared to April, there was a decrease in 18 adventures. In 4 main headings, no change was recorded.
Producer prices continued to rise
Producer price catalog (D-PPI) continued its upward movement since April. Producer prices, which increased by 2.76% on a monthly basis, increased by 22.50% on an annual basis.
Economists point out that inflation may decrease more significantly in the second half of the year with the base effect, while the course of core inflation is critical for the Central Bank's policies.
