Thyssenkrupp is embarking on a major modernization project for production at its Bruckhausen area facility in Duisburg. The company has reportedly started pre-installation work at the site, which will include a No. 4 continuous caster and a No. 4 hot rolling mill that will produce steel plate.
In 2021, Thyssenkrupp placed a large order with Primetals Technologies for a reverse cold rolling mill, a hot rolling mill and two slab casting machines, which are scheduled to be completed in 2025.
Heike Deneke-Arnold, Chief Operating Officer of Thyssenkrupp, stated, "Our revamped facilities will enable us to meet the market strongly by offering stronger steel grades and features such as optimized surfaces in line with changing market needs."
