According to data from the USA Department of Labor, the increase in non-farm labor productivity decreased from 2.3 percent to 2.1 percent in the second quarter of this year.
The market expectation for the said data was for an increase of 2.4 percent in this period. Non-agricultural labor productivity in the country increased by 4.3 percent in the first quarter of this year.
WORKING HOURS RISE
In the second quarter of this year, production increased by 8.1 percent and working hours by 6 percent compared to the previous quarter.
ONE OF THE INFLATION INDICATORS
The increase in unit labor cost, one of the inflation indicators followed by the US Federal Reserve (Fed), was revised from 1 percent to 1.3 percent. The unit labor cost, which decreased by 2.8 percent in the first quarter of this year, was expected to increase by 0.9 percent in the second quarter of this year.
