According to the preliminary Census Bureau data from the US Department of Commerce (USDOC), the USA imported around 181,100 tons of hot-rolled flat products in April this year, rising by 27% compared to the previous month and also hiking by 5% from the same month a year earlier.
Among them, the imports from Canada accounted for the largest proportion, totaling roughly 110,300 tons, a month-on-month increase of 3.24% and a year-on-year hike of 5.8%. Other major import sources included South Korea (around 20,200 tons), Mexico (around 18,000 tons), the Netherlands (around 11,900 tons), and Sweden (around 3,800 tons).
During the period, the import value totaled roughly US$208 million, down by 28.2% month on month and up by 17.3% year on year.
