The EEU proposes to increase AD duty on stainless steel tubes originating from Malaysia and China

The Eurasian Economic Union (EEU) has proposed to increase anti-dumping (AD) duties on cold-rolled seamless stainless steel tubes imported from China and Malaysia.

The EEU proposes to increase AD duty on stainless steel tubes originating from Malaysia and China

The EEU announced the results of its AD review of these metal products and recommended an increase in the AD duty rate from the current 19.15% to 29.39%. The measure is expected to remain in effect for the next five years and covers customs codes 7304 41 000 5 and 7304 41 000 8.

The EEU's decision is likely to have a significant impact on the Chinese and Malaysian steel industries. These industries are major exporters of cold rolled seamless stainless steel tubes to the EEU and the increased AD duty rate is likely to make their products lose competitiveness in the EEU market.

The EEU's decision is also expected to affect the EEU's consumers of cold-formed seamless stainless steel tubes. The increased AD tax rate is likely to lead to higher prices for these products in the EEU market.
