Tesla, the world's most popular electric car manufacturer, is making huge investments in renewable energy as well as vehicle production.
The US company announced in a statement that it plans to establish a new energy storage facility in Hokkaido, located in northern Japan.
CAPACITY TO POWER 500 HOME
Tesla will collaborate with Japanese energy retailer and aggregator Global Engineering and engineering firm Ene-Vision to build an energy storage system with a capacity of 6,095 kWh (kilowatt hours) that can power 500 homes.
READY IN 2022
Tesla will use Megapack battery technology for the project, which is planned to be operational in the summer of 2022.
Within the scope of the project, the Global Engineering company; while dealing with the wholesale electricity market, balancing market; Ene-Vision will handle the procurement and construction works.
According to the statement, the value of the project in question will be approximately 2.7 million dollars.
