Tata Steel’s steel production increased by 8% in the 2026 fiscal year

Tata Steel recorded a historic increase in its steel production in India during the 2025–26 fiscal year, raising its annual crude steel output to 23.48 million tons. This marks an 8% increase compared to the previous year.

Tata Steel’s steel production increased by 8% in the 2026 fiscal year

The increase in production was primarily driven by capacity expansions at the Kalinganagar plant. In the fourth quarter of FY26, crude steel production rose from 5.44 million tons to 6.25 million tons.

Domestic deliveries surpass 20 million tons for the first time

According to Tata Steel’s provisional data, annual deliveries reached 22.53 million tons, in line with production growth. The company stated, “Domestic deliveries exceeded 20 million tons for the first time, reflecting our strong market position and solid customer relationships.”

The automotive and special products segment achieved a record delivery volume of 3.4 million tons, while the branded products and retail segment reached 7.3 million tons. The industrial products and projects segment recorded deliveries of 7.2 million tons.

Growth continues in Thailand

In Thailand, Tata Steel recorded 1.33 million tons of saleable steel production and 1.32 million tons of deliveries in FY26. Strong rebar sales in the domestic market supported an 11% year-on-year increase in deliveries.

With an annual crude steel capacity of 35 million tons, Tata Steel Group ranks among the world’s leading producers and operates an extensive global production and commercial network.
