Tata Steel also announced existing expansion projects for its pelletizing plant in Kalinganagar, which is expected to start operating in the third quarter in 2023, including an annual capacity output of 6 million. Construction of an electric arc furnace (EAF) in Punjab started with an annual output of 750,000 tons.
In the second quarter of this year, Tata Steel's steel production volume decreased by 2% quarter on quarter to 4.64 million tons and increased by 2% year on year; Tata Steel's steel product sales volume increased by 18% quarter-on-quarter to 4.76 million tons. It increased by 8% compared to the same period of the previous year. Tata Steel stated that it predicts that short-term core industry demand will gradually recover and steel prices are expected to fluctuate on the high side.
