During the same period, the company's domestic steel sales also increased by 11% year on year to 5.17 million tonnes.
Record first-quarter performance in automotive and branded products
According to the company, its Automotive and Special Products division achieved its highest-ever first-quarter output, producing approximately 900,000 tonnes.
The Branded Products and Retail segment also posted a record first-quarter performance, with sales reaching approximately 1.7 million tonnes.
Sales in the Industrial Products and Projects segment totaled around 1.6 million tonnes. The company attributed the strong performance to robust demand for value-added steel products and its strengthened market position in expanding sectors such as shipbuilding, container manufacturing, and data center construction.
Netherlands and UK operations
Tata Steel Netherlands produced 1.55 million tonnes of steel during the reporting period, while sales totaled 1.40 million tonnes.
The company said operations were affected by the shutdown of its direct sheet plant in April. However, local environmental authorities have approved trial production, and testing is continuing as part of preparations to restart the facility at full capacity.
