An agreement was signed between Tata Steel company and the Indian Ministry of Railways.
Under this agreement, Tata Steel will supply windows, panels, seating systems and train parts for the Vande Bharat, which is considered India's fastest train.
Tata Steel will manufacture 16 wagons and 22 Vande Bharat trainsets under this project. A tender for Rs 145 ($1.74) has been awarded to the company, which is expected to produce a total of 200 trains. The project is expected to be completed within 1 year.
