Tata Steel to install induction furnaces at Corby pipe mill in England

Tata Steel, the Indian company that produces domestic iron and steel and industrial products, stated that they are planning to install high-tech induction furnaces at the Corby pipe facility in England and will invest £5 million for this.

In this way, Tata Steel will ensure that 2,000 tons of less carbon is consumed per year at the plant. The company aims to transform the used electricity supply into low-carbon renewable resources over time.

The manager of the project stated in this regard that the work done will provide low carbon emissions as it requires less preheating.

The company, whose work will continue at the end of October 2023, has goals such as installing 12 induction furnaces, a cooling system and electrical infrastructure at the Corby pipe plant.

The plant with an induction furnace will receive a grant of £300 million and compensation for the electricity used as it switches from coking coal to electric arc furnaces.
