Tata Steel to increase hydrogen use

TV Narendran, CEO and Managing Director of Tata Steel, has successfully completed the pilot project at the company's facility in Jamshedpur, Jharkhand. Narendran stated that they plan to expand the use of hydrogen in the steelmaking process. The quality of hydrogen use that the company will increase has not yet been disclosed.

Tata Steel began the first of its kind experiment in April this year, injecting hydrogen gas by using 40% of the injection systems in the E-blast furnace at its Jamshedpur plant.
