Taiwan's scrap, billet and H-section imports decline in November

According to the latest data from the Taiwan Customs Department, Taiwan’s steel product imports experienced significant declines in November.

Taiwan's scrap, billet and H-section imports decline in November

In November, Taiwan imported about 220,000 tons of scrap steel. This figure represents a 4% decrease compared to October’s import of 228,000 tons. The US remained the largest supplier, supplying 90,000 tons, accounting for more than 40% of total imports. Japan ranked second.

Taiwan’s November billet imports fell by 52% compared to October, reaching about 100,000 tons. The main reason for this decline was cited as the increase in billet prices in international markets. Russia led the way, accounting for 50% of total imports. Imports from China, on the other hand, fell sharply to 17,000 tons.

Taiwan’s H-section imports fell by 46% to 3,200 tons in November, the majority of which came from South Korea at 2,700 tons.
