According to official figures made by the Ministry of Finance of Taiwan, the country's iron and steel exports decreased by 31.6% in January 2023 to $1.48 Billion.
This has also slowed down the pace of EU steel quotas. In the first quarter of 2023, EU steel quotas were calculated as 31.641/t, together with the quota transferred in the last quarter of last year for organic coated sheets. The quota amount used in the first quarter was 5,000/t.
The stainless HR Quarto Sheet progressed very quickly
The quotas on the stainless HR Quarto plate progressed very quickly compared to other products and were almost seen as about to be filled in the first quarter of the year. From the quota announced as 43,339 /t, there was only 7,549/t quota remaining. The quota amount used has amounted to 35,790/t.
While 2.162/t was used out of the 5.980 /t quota announced in the wire rod, 3.730 /t was used out of the 18.217/t quota for Pipe (Seamed). The remaining quota amount in Pipe (Seamed) was recorded as 14,487/t.
