According to statistics, Taiwan imported about 267,300 tons of ferrous scrap in December last year, an increase of 14% from the previous month and 13.2% from the previous year.
In 2022, Taiwan's ferrous scrap imports amounted 2.9 million tons, down 5.5% y-o-y. Among them, the United States remained the largest supplier of scrap, with about 1.2 million tons of scrap, down 4.6 percent y-o-y. Japan ranked second in 2022, supplying Taiwan with 599,400 tons of scrap, an annual increase of 2.7%.
