Taiwan's billet imports increase

Taiwan's billet imports rised 5.49% month on month in June, reaching close to 280,000 tons, according to data from Taiwan Customs. In the first six months, Taiwan imported 1.96 million tons of billet.

Taiwan's June scrap imports totaled 228,000 tons, down 14% month on month and down 5% year on year. Taiwan, which imported the most scrap from the USA with 87,000 tons, was followed by Japan with 46,000 tons and Australia with 15,000 tons.
