Taiwanese company Feng Hsin increases scrap and rebar prices

Feng Hsin Steel Co. Ltd., a major player in Taiwan’s steel industry, announced this week’s prices.

Taiwanese company Feng Hsin increases scrap and rebar prices

Feng Hsin Steel, announced an increase in its scrap purchasing price by NTD 200 (6 USD), bringing it to NTD 9,400 per ton (USD 294). The company also raised its rebar price by NTD 200 to NTD 18,800 per ton (USD 588).

Despite these adjustments, the prices for four types of scrap—TTA, PS, TTP, and TTC—remained unchanged. Similarly, the price for section steel held steady at NTD 25,200 per ton (USD 788).

The increase in rebar prices this week was largely in line with market expectations, reflecting the upward trend in finished product and raw material prices observed last week.

Feng Hsin also noted that there were no offers for U.S. scrap shipments last week. However, during the same period, Japan’s H2 scrap price remained stable at USD 330 per ton, while U.S. containerized scrap prices also rose to USD 330 per ton. In contrast, Australia’s iron ore prices experienced a 4.2% decline w-o-w.
