Feng Hsin decided to maintain its scrap purchase price at NTD 9,400 (about USD 293) per ton, rebar price at NTD 18,500 (about USD 577) per ton, and steel section price at NTD 25,700 (about USD 802) per ton.
Feng Hsin also noted that there were no offers for scrap shipments from the US last week. During the same period, Japan's H2 scrap price fell by 4.2% to USD 345 per ton, while the US containerized scrap price dropped by 3.5% to USD 328 per ton. In contrast, Australia's iron ore price increased by 4.5% on a weekly basis.
The company's decision to keep prices stable reflects its strategy to maintain price stability in the current market conditions. Industry experts noted that the rebar price stabilization was in line with expectations. The sluggish transaction volume in southern Taiwan also justified the stabilization of the rebar price. Feng Hsin's stance is considered to be in line with market expectations, especially considering the volatility in global scrap markets.
