SULB receives 2025 International Safety Award from the British Safety Council

SULB, the Middle East’s first fully integrated producer of light, medium, and heavy structural steel sections, has received the 2025 International Safety Award with Merit from the British Safety Council in recognition of its commitment to occupational health and safety.

The award highlights SULB’s ongoing efforts to create a safe working environment and the dedicated initiatives carried out throughout 2024. The company stated that it reached this milestone through awareness, training, and system improvements, with a clear goal of zero accidents.

Jaafar Hasan Ibrahim, General Manager of Operations at SULB, stated:
“This award is not just a recognition—it represents the collective effort of our entire team. We don’t view safety as just procedures and protocols; for us, it’s a fundamental value.”

SULB is a joint venture between Bahrain-based Foulath Holding (51%) and Japan-based Yamato Kogyo (49%). It is a fully integrated steel producer, from iron ore to finished products, with rolling mills located in both Saudi Arabia and Bahrain.
