Inventories of the five major finished steel products of 184 Chinese steelmakers sampled in Mysteel's weekly survey reversed on August 19-25 after the previous week's increase, mainly due to the improvement in demand and lower production by domestic steelmakers.
The survey showed that inventories of the five core steel products: rebar, wire rod, hot rolled coil, cold rolled coil and medium plate totaled 6.2 million tons as of August 25, down a total of 166,500 tons, or 2.6 percent week on week.
