Rebar and wire rod prices remain stable in the Southern European rebar market as mills go on summer holidays.
The region's wire rod and rebar markets showed minimal activity this week as steel mills in Southern Europe started to shut down operations in preparation for the summer holidays.
Most mills in Southern Europe will halt production from early August to late August-early September. Local rebar for delivery to Northern Europe was steady at €575-605 ($635-670) last week.
