South32 reported a 64.8% decrease in its annual profit for fiscal year 2023, reaching $916 million. The decline was attributed to falling product prices like coking coal and aluminum, as well as rising costs.
South32 has raised cost forecasts for most of its mines for next year, in line with industry trends and higher safety and growth costs.
